It is just as important to honor heartbreak as it is to celebrate love. To make space for passion, but also for loneliness when it arrives uninvited. We spend so much of our lives trying not to get lost, when perhaps getting lost is the very thing that teaches us who we are. How else do we build a life that is truly our own? We choose one path, only to return and walk another. We change careers, directions, friendships, even the people we love. None of it is failure. It is the quiet work of becoming. The only certainty I have found is this: no matter how many dark roads I must cross, I will keep searching for the light within me; the one that always points toward what is honest, what is compassionate, what serves something greater than myself. Life does not choose us. We choose, again and again, who we become. And perhaps that is the greatest gift we are given.
